Finglebone
reared it's ugly head in the mid-nineties and started life as acoustic
doodlings and amplified improvisations, recorded on two tape players as
a basic multi-track system untill enough money was saved to buy a
Yamaha MT50 four-track and microphones. The band consisted .. friends,
adam varney (guitar/samples) James Smith (all-things percussion)
Initial recordings involved four microphones strategically placed
around an unusually shaped bedroom. The result was a suprisinlgy good
lo-fi sound and about 100 60minute tapes of music . I would later
overdub some extras by ping-ponging tracks to build the songs.
we are currently working on a more ambient, organic folk based sound,
with the recent addition of Naomi Henstridge on vocals. Harmonies,
soundscapes, folk stories, textures and ambience defines finglebone's
sound. 2010 will see Jason flory, become a collaborator and honorary
member thanks to the internet. He will be supplying all manner of
drumming all the way from New mexico. We are also working on short
films to accompany our music, which we will project onto screens behind
us on stage, when we get set up for some gigs.
